WHHY IS OBESITY A HEALTH CONCERN?
The growing phenomenon of fast food and burger joints is ever rising nowadays. We see young generations indulging in unhealthy, sugar rich diet and consuming beverages with heaped quantity of preservatives and horrendous amounts of sugar. Why is obesity on the rise? The home-made food concept has been replaced with hassle-free take-away and delivery. Though diet has been spoiled greatly over the years, it is seen that the workout necessary to get rid of the extra calories consumed has surprisingly seen a decline. Obesity effects on body systems cannot be ignored. The dangerous health risks associated with obesity are discussed in the article.
WHAT IS OBESITY?
The health condition in which there is excess body fat in a body which might have a harmful and negative effect on the health of a person. The person accumulates so much body fat that his normal body functions are deranged.

There is a slight difference in the both terms. Overweight and obesity are two different terms because being obese means you have entered the diseased condition itself and you should do everything in your control to reverse the process. Being overweight means you have exceeded the normal criteria for normal body weight and it is not a disorder. The Body Mass Index BMI of an overweight person is between 25 and 29.9.
HEALTH RISKS OF OBESITY:
Health problems associated with obesity include dangerous cardiovascular diseases, diabetes hormonal and behavioral problems. You can get a pulmonary embolism or a fatal respiratory attack if your condition exceeds the normal limits.
Your body can have a bad blood supply due to the growing fat deposits. This can be really lethal for your sensitive cardiac and neural tissues. You may be at an increased risk for developing acute coronary disease or a heart attack. Myocardial infarction rate is also greater in obese people.
WHY IS OBESITY BAD?
Being obese is really bad for your personal health. Many people believe it is not a health disorder. Instead it is a personal condition—which is not wrong. It is your choices and your personal preferences that lead you to this condition. But it is never too late. You can always reverse your condition by getting the right kind of medical help and modification of lifestyle. Lifestyle modification is very necessary in order to get rid of obesity. Walking and indulging in workout activities like swimming, yoga and others is really helpful.
Obesity is not only bad for you but also bad for your family and friends. It is a really sad situation in developed countries. People suffer from emotional stress. Depression and mood swings are very common.
SOCIAL EFFECTS OF OBESITY:
There is a rise of social problems with obesity. Obesity side effects include emotional setback, hormonal changes and mood swings. Emotional effects of obesity should be catered very carefully.
