CDC CLAIMS THAT SECOND WAVE OF CORONAVIRUS WOULD BE EXTREMELY WORSE THAN THE ONE WE ARE FACING AT PRESENT:
According to the US health care system and the health workers worldwide, it is claimed that the second wave of coronavirus might coincide with the flu season in the upcoming future putting an unimaginable strain on the health professionals. The director Robert Redfield from Centre of Disease Control and Prevention reported that the second wave of this COVID-19 could be catastrophic as it will coincide with the flu season that will further cause a severe situation similar to World War 2. Redfield further explained that the assault of the virus on the nation’s worldwide during the next winters will make it more difficult than the one we are facing now. He further stresses over the point that the people are not trying to understand the situation that he is trying to explain and are turning their heads back. He also explained that people worldwide need to understand the fact that we will face coronavirus epidemic and flu epidemic at the same time then you can only imagine the stress we are going to face at the hospitals and the healthcare system.
DEATH TOLL FOR CORNAVIRUS CASES ON A RISE:
As of today, we know the fact that the total number of coronavirus cases worldwide includes 2,639,243 while the number of deaths includes 183,820 which is a lot. In the US alone, the total number of coronavirus cases includes 45000 which are quickly approaching the figure of millions and it is by far one of the countries worldwide with the increased number of people affected by the virus. However, we were quite lucky that the first wave of COVID-19 was seen after the influenza season almost ended due to which it was not that severe during the first wave but we need to expect critical situations during the second wave of COVID-19.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES TO BE FOLLOWED WORLDWIDE:
During the recent interview, Redfield also urged the people to maintain the preventive measures prescribed by the CDC which includes social distancing, washing hands frequently, sanitizing the hands frequently, wearing essential masks, gloves, and gowns as protective measures and avoid going to public places. He further urged the government that the COVID-19 testing should be scaled up and should be performed massively. Experts assume that taking preventive measures along with increased testing can help in halting the spread of the virus among people and avoid any masses at hospitals. Elders are more at risk of the virus.

UPLIFTING THE LOCKDOWN SITUATION IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO THE SEVERITY OF THE PANDEMIC:
His warnings seem to fall over the deaf ears as many countries worldwide especially many US states are planning to lift the lockdown and gradually reopen workplaces. However, we can already see that the number of coronavirus cases is approaching peak levels. This news though appeared after the encouragement of Donald Trump to the protestors who rose against the lockdown situation while he tweeted on Friday that the protestors should liberate Virginia, Minnesota, and Michigan. Several people, however, oppose the protestors and believe that the deadline for the lockdown situation should be in the hands of the healthcare professionals.
FLU VACCINES:
Redfield further urged the people to get their flu shots before the situation gets worse and both the viruses coincide. It is essential to get it done so that the hospitals are not as overwhelmed as they are in the present. Such vaccinations beforehand may allow the hospital beds to remain free for the elderly people who are severely ill and need assistance or for people who are diagnosed with critical medical conditions and coronavirus itself.
