Smoking is hazardous for your health and contributes to the development of many chronic diseases such as lung cancer and throat cancer. Moreover, you can not escape the clutch of smoking, if you are addicted to it at large. Smoking harms every organ of the body and the sooner you quit, the sooner you can reap the health rewards and other advantages of being a non-smoker.

As blood flow gets better with time, your skin receives more nutrients and oxygen. This can help you to have a youthful look and healthier complexion.

Smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer across the globe. Lung cancer claims more lives each year than prostate, ovarian, colon, and breast cancers combined. Smoking causes the majority of lung cancers, both in smokers and in people who are exposed to secondhand smoke in the contaminated environment.

Research suggests that smoking increases the risk of developing Uveitis: inflammation in uvea(eyes middle layer), Cataracts: clouding in the lens of the eye and Glaucoma: damage in eyes optic nerve that may lead to permanent blindness.

In men smoking damages sperm, reducing its ability to fertilize an egg. Smoking exposes your spouse, children, and even pets to secondhand smoke, It increases their risk of developing breathing complications. Research findings suggest that children who grow up watching their parents smoke are more likely to smoke when they grow up.

Smoking can boost your risk of dementia(loss of memory). It’s not necessary that everyone who smokes will get dementia, but quitting smoking is thought to reduce your risk down to the level of non-smokers.

9-Smoking disrupts the sleep cycle:

According to research conducted in 2011, people who smoke are 2.5 times more likely to also suffer from sleep apnea( interruption of breathing during sleep). Cigarette smokers are more prone to insomnia if they smoke regularly and close to bedtime.

10-Smoking slows wound healing:

Nicotine acts vasoconstrictor that decreases nutritional blood flow to the skin, resulting in impaired healing of injured tissue. Smokers suffer from greater post-surgery complications as compared to nonsmokers.
