Some people believe that whatever is seen in the outside is everything. This is why thousands of people every year make improvements in the body to look great and sexy. One of the many procedures that can make this happen for men and women is liposuction.
Liposuction is a surgery designed to take away excess fat from the body. This is done by injecting anesthesia into the body, making small cuts in the areas where the patient wants it fixed then sucking it out through a tube.

People who usually undergo liposuction are in the 30’s and above. This is because the body isn’t able to burn food as fast as it used to before. This procedure isn’t for everybody so it is best to consult the doctor before going on any further.
Consulting the doctor includes medical examinations to check the person’s health, time to locate the areas where the fats are and checking the patient’s skin condition. If the individual is taking any medication, this should be since some of the drugs may result to complications during and after the operation.

People often confuse weight loss with liposuction. This kind of thinking is wrong since this operation is not designed to make the person lose weight. All it can do is sculpt the body to make it look better. The areas that surgery is usually performed in are the abs, legs, thighs, cheeks, neck, hips and buttocks.

There are now many ways on how liposuction can be done. One technique is called fluid injection. This is done by putting in a chemical made up of lidocaine and epinephrine into the targeted area. This technique which is getting popular claims to decrease the amount of blood lost and the bruising which usually happens as a result of surgery.

Another technique which also involves the use of fluids is called tumescent liposuction. The patient doesn’t need anesthesia but has the option to if needed since the fluids inserted have already taken care of that.
Some people think that the wet technique and tumescent liposuction is the same thing but in reality, these 2 are very different. The fluids used in one are much more while the other uses only the same amount depending on the volume of fat to be taken out.
Liposuction is sometimes called lipoplasty which goes to another technique called Ultra-Sound Assisted Lipoplasty. This high tech form uses specialized tubes that are able to make ultrasonic energy. Once inserted into the body, it melts away the hard fat making it easier for the vacuum to suck.

The techniques used can be done in less than a day. The patient does not have to spend the night but merely come to the clinic in the morning then go home in the afternoon. The difference with the many kinds of liposuction surgery is the recovery period. Some allow the patient to go back to work after 2 days while the conventional method will take 3 to 4 weeks before the person can go back to the normal routine.

Liposuction is an expensive and costly procedure. Patients have to undergo many tests before being scheduled for an operation. The person should know the risks involved before coming to the decision whether to go through with it or not.
